Seanamico to invest in a modern processing plant

Nam Can Seaproducts Import-Export JSC (Seanamico) has approved its 2011 business plan with the target of reaching VND560 billion of turnover, VND15 billion of pre-tax profit, dividend payout ratio of 16 percent and the total output of 2,800 MT of finished products.

At the annual General Assembly of shareholders held in early April, 2011, Board of Directors of Seanamico has approved construction of a modern seafood processing plant at Ham Rong commune, Nam Can district, Ca Mau with capacity of 15 MT of finished products per day. The total estimated capital for equipments of the plant is US$3.88 million. This plant is the most modern one of the company, Mr Nguyen Truong Giang – Chairman and Director of the company said. Hung Vuong Corp invest in improving seed pangasius

To deal with poor quality of pangasius seed because of malnourished parent, Hung Vuong Corporation funded VND 4 billion for artificial pangasius breeding centers to improve the quality of food far mature pangasius. 

Due to the fact that parent pangasius were fed by low-nutrient food and scarcity of supply, many providers distributed low-quality seed pangasius, high dead rates which caused great losses to farmers and hardly meet the demand of raw material pangasius for processing plants, Mr Duong Ngoc Minh, Chairman of Hung Vuong Corporation spoke at the conference of reviewing fish exports QI/2011 held by VASEP on April 25th 2011 in Ho Chi Minh city. Genetic technologies should be focused

In the period 2006-2010, the total budget for developing and applying biotechnology in agriculture was 328 billion VND (approx US$15 million) for 131 projects including 100 billion VND for 47 projects on fisheries (approx US$ 4.6 million).

To develop biotechnology sector, it is important to invest in research of hi-tech product, amend human resource training policy and mechanism, and promote the participation of private sector. This was conclusion made by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Cao Duc Phat in the conference reviewing the “Key Program on Developing and Applying Biotechnology in Agriculture and Rural Development” held in late 2010. Cambodia Nautisco Seafood Manufacturing, Ltd and shrimp production

Sam Peou, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nautisco Seafood Manufacturing, Ltd., a shrimp processor, has signed export contracts with two Japanese companies: Honda Suisane and Kyokuyo.  After signing the contracts, he said his monthly exports jumped 50%.  The $3 million Nautisco plant can process 15 tons of shrimp a day  and is seeking foreign investment to build a $15 million, 200-hectare shrimp farm. VND40,000 billion to invest in aquaculture sector

The Prime Minister signed Decision 332/QD-TTG to approve the project on Aquaculture Development toward 2020.

The project, focussed on comprehensive aquaculture development, coosting around VND 40,000 billion (approx 2 billion usd), aims to bring the aquaculture production up to 4.5 million tons and the export value up to US$ 5.5 billion by 2020. Read more of this post

Food safety sees massive investment

A project to boost competition in animal husbandry and food safety in the agricultural sector kicked off in Hanoi on March 4th with an investment of US$ 79 million.

Of the investment, official development assistance (ODA) will contribute over $65 million while the Government will pay $3.4 million and the private sector over $10.37 million. Read more of this post
