Feed price rises trouble farmers

Since early this year, animal feed prices have increased by up to 50 per cent, causing Vietnamese farmers much difficulty, according to the Livestock Production Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Local feed producers recently announced an increase in feed prices from VND150 to VND250 per kg. The price for raw materials used in animal feed production has risen faster than the proportion of livestock product prices, reducing scale and economic efficiency. Read more of this post


Vinh Long: aquaculture production hit 10,540 tons in Feb’ 2011

Recently, Vinh Long’s aquaculture production hit high despite an increase of juvenile and feed price.

According to the figure of Statistics Department, the provincial aquaculture yield in Feb’ 2011 is estimated to reach 10,540 tons, up 7,67% compared with last year. The growing output was attributed to market demand and high price of Pangasius. Read more of this post

Vietnam Feed prices continue to climb

The price of animal feed is expected to continue to rise because of higher prices of raw materials and the recent devaluation of the Vietnamese dong against the US dollar, according to animal-feed producers.

Pham Duc Binh, general director of the Dong Nai province-based feed maker Thanh Binh Corporation and deputy chairman of the Vietnam Animal Feed Association, said the price of animal feed willl ikely rise by about 3 percent.

Prices are expected to go up after producers have exhausted all of their current stock, Binh said.  Read more of this post
