Jan – May: Pangasius export reaches 263,170MT

According to the Vietnam Customs in Jan-May Vietnam earned approximately US$ 672 million from exporting 263,170 MT of Pangasius up 24.7% in value and 4.7% in volume.

Pangasius export is expected to hit a record US$800 million in the first six months of the year.

In order to stabilize the supply of raw material and export price from July to the end of the year, Vasep Freshwater Fish Committee (VFFC) held a meeting with 25 biggest Pangasius exporters and Dong Thap and An Giang Fish Farming Associations to set the floor prices for export.

Accordingly, price of trimmed and untrimmed Pangasius fillet shipped abroad (except US) were fixed at US$3.3/kilo and US$2.3/kilo, respectively. Read more of this post

Cafatex Corp to promote pangasius certificated GlobalGAP

In the next two months, a pangasius farm of Cafatex Fishery Joint Stock Corporation (Cafatex Corp) will be certificated GlobalGAP.

The farm is located at Cau Ke district, Tra Vinh province on Hau river with the area of 8 hectares and annual production of 5,000 MT of raw pangasius. In the upcoming time, GlobalGAP certification and other international standards will be carried out by pangasius farms of the company with total area of 150 hectares. Read more of this post

Minh Phu seafood corp: Targets VND 615.5 billion profit

Minh Phu Seafood Corp has issued VND 700 billion of three years bonds with par value of VND 1 billion per share

Minh Phu Seafood Corp (MPC) has issued VND700 billion of three year bonds with par value of VND1 billion per share. In the first phase (late 2010), MPC issued 200 bonds (worth VND200 billion) and the other 500 bonds were issued in the second phase (March 31, 2011) in order to raise operating capital for Minh Phu – Hau Giang shrimp processing plant and invest in an industrial shrimp farming project at Dat Do district, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province. GODACO: VND20.26 Bln profit in Q1/2011

Godaco reported its after-tax profit increased by 12.7 billion against the same period last year (VND 7.56 billion)

The increase of the company’s after-tax profit in Q1/2011 was attributed to higher net revenue, which increased by VND71.6 billion (69%). In the first quarter, Godaco’s production and export price both increased. Average export price rose from US$2.6/kilo to US$3.1 /kilo. Foreign exchange rate was also higher.  Read more of this post

ANVIFISH: Striving to achieve VND1,800 Bln in revenue

In the first 2 months of 2011, Anvifish shipped more than 2,200 MT of Pangasius worth US$ 6.5 million.

On April 14, Anvifish held an annual shareholders meeting. The election result and executive board members for the period 2011-2016 were announced. Accordingly, Mr. Luu Bach Thao continued to be the Chairman of Management Board and General Director of Anvifish.

CPF has high hopes for Viet Nam Pangasius integration

Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) is close to completing a Pangasius processing plant in Viet Nam, which is set to open by the start of 2012.
This will give the company, listed on the Bangkok stock exchange and the world’s largest shrimp farmer, the same level of vertical integration it has on shrimp, said Richard Ingversen, sales manager with its Scandinavian division CPF Denmark.   Read more of this post

BESEACO to promote clam products in Vietfish 2011

From 2004 to now, Ben Tre Seafood Joint Stock Company (Beseaco) has annually participated in Vietfish show where they found a lot of new customers for their clam products.

According to BESEACO, at Vietfish 2011, the company continues to display and introduce two main export items including pangasius fillet and clam. The company also makes an appointment with some partners from EU, Asia and the U.S at the trade show. Read more of this post
